Commando Swamp near Kooraste This open forest also contained the Moorland Clouded Yellow (Colias palaeno). This species can be found on hoogvenen like the Hautes Fagnes in Belgium.The third picture about the commando moor. You can see a lot of light between the trees reaching the ground. This means that the ground vegetation is not poor at all. It was amazing to discover flying butterflies in the wood (Veenbesblauwtje Vacciniina optilete). The feeding plant of the Cranberry Blue (DLD : Violetter SilberfleckBlauling) was still present in nearly every forest, it is a cranberry (Vaccinium myrtillus). Also the Veenluzerne vlinder (DLD : Hochmoorgelbing, Colias palaeno) was flying between the trees on this location.
