In my opinion House Martins were only found near the coast. Maybe only there was proper nesting material available. We saw very few birds on this Nature summercamp. Of course these house martins were not alone: it was a colony of about 10 nests on each side of the house. They were only 4 m above the ground, so it was easy to make this picture. We were on our way back home on this day. On the other side of the road a three snakes (Natrix natrix) were seen when they were sunbathing on the dike.
